Aldi (Hofer in Austria) sells new tablet PC from medion with 32 GB and UMTS for 400 €

The discounter Aldi (called Hofer in Austria) sells since 8 December 2011 a medion Android tablet PC – Lifepad – with 32 GByte RAM, 10″ display and UMTS for 400 Euro.  Even though this is only about 80 Euros less than the cheapest iPad, it is more than 300 Euros cheaper when you consider an iPad including UMTS and 32 GB RAM, and even 340 Euros cheaper, when you consider the HDMI adapter. The tablet is a little bit thicker than the iPad (1.3 cm instead of 0,9 cm), but offers 3 years or warranty where the Apple iPad only offers 1 year.
